Verified case summary

Sebastian Vernon, forty-five, from West London, received a sentence of six months after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women on late-night trains.

British Transport Police said the first offence happened on a Circle Line service in March twenty twenty-five.

Vernon sat beside a woman despite the carriage being empty and assaulted her while she was trapped in her seat.

Two weeks later, he boarded a train from Stevenage to Hitchin shortly before midnight, followed another woman towards the doors and assaulted her.

Both women reported what happened using British Transport Police services.

Their detailed accounts helped officers link the incidents, identify Vernon and arrest him outside a central London court.

Following trial, he was convicted of two sexual assaults and ordered to register for seven years.
