Verified case summary

This man, Lee Arthurs, is forty-one and from Silk Street in Ipswich.

Essex Police said he was already subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order when he stayed at a family address in Colchester to dog-sit.

In March, Arthurs accessed online chat platforms and attempted to engage children in sexual communication.

Officers arrested him, and examination of his device revealed further chats and indecent images of children.

Police described Arthurs as a repeat offender.

He was charged with three attempted communication offences, three image offences and four breaches of his court order.

Arthurs admitted all ten counts at Chelmsford Crown Court.

On the fifth of June, the court sentenced him to five years in prison.

Detection of the breaches triggered his recall to prison before the new five-year sentence was imposed.
