Verified case summary
Ismail Hussain, twenty-eight, of no fixed address in Huddersfield, was prosecuted after a man in his twenties reported a town-centre attack.
West Yorkshire Police said Hussain approached the victim near New Street early on the second of August twenty twenty-five, then raped him in an alleyway.
The attack happened between five and five-thirty that morning.
Detectives moved quickly, examining CCTV and identifying Hussain within hours.
Officers located and arrested him in the early hours of the following day.
Hussain denied the allegations, but a jury found him guilty of two counts of rape after a trial in February.
Leeds Crown Court later imposed fifteen years in prison plus an eight-year extended licence, making a twenty-three-year total sentence.
Police praised the survivor for reporting the attack and supporting the prosecution through court.
