William Flamson, forty-one, from Gateshead, was jailed for nine years after a jury found him guilty of rape.
Northumbria Police said the offence was reported after the survivor spoke to a friend, who contacted officers.
Flamson was arrested and later charged.
He denied the allegation, but after a three-day trial at Newcastle Crown Court in February twenty twenty-six, the jury convicted him.
On the thirtieth of March, he received a nine-year prison sentence.
The court also imposed an indefinite restraining order and lifetime registration requirements.
